Launching the Artificial Intelligence Center at Ajloun National University

On behalf of Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, His Excellency Ahmed Al-Hanandeh, inaugurates the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Center at Ajloun National University under the umbrella of the Association of Arab Universities


On behalf of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmad Al-Hanandeh launched the Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation Center at Ajloun National University as an educational institution affiliated with the Association of Arab Universities.

During the launch ceremony, which was attended by Ajloun Governor Dr. Qablan Al-Sharif and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University Dr. Muhammad Nour Al-Samadi, Al-Hanandeh stressed the importance of digitization in all sectors, which have become future requirements.

He explained that the development of any country is actually in the ambitions and hopes of young people, which must be transformed into reality, pointing to the importance of providing the necessary support system for students to enable them to acquire future skills, in light of the rapid progress of knowledge.

He stressed that Jordanian universities have graduated large numbers of highly qualified digital workers, and that Jordan believes in the capabilities and skills of its people.
He said that the ministry is ready to support this center, which the Association of Arab Universities initiative is a pioneering step to host at Ajloun University, a source of pride for all.
In turn, the university president, Dr. Firas Al-Hanandeh, said that the Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities announced the establishment of this advanced center for artificial intelligence after Ajloun University participated in several conferences to be a scientific research and industrial economic incubator working to lead the technological revolution among Arab universities.

He added that the center will be a nucleus working towards transforming scientific research ideas into industrial products through networking between the Arab academic sector and the Arab and international industrial sector.

He pointed out that the center will organize an international scientific conference entitled Artificial Intelligence and Universities in mid-June, which will be launched under the umbrella of the Association of Arab Universities in cooperation with the Association of Chinese Universities and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Egypt.

He announced the launch of the journal of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation issued by the center, which will be indexed under major global databases, especially Clarivate, Scopus and Google Scholar, appreciating the support and assistance of all parties to establish this center.
In turn, the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Amr Salama, stressed the importance of this center, indicating that it will work within the framework of joint Arab action in addition to technological development in the field of higher education and linking education outcomes to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

He pointed out the importance of artificial intelligence, and that the center is an educational research institution that works on innovation and leadership and interacts with society, and praised the role of Ajloun University and its adoption of advanced initiatives that contribute to the development of higher education in the region, as the establishment of this center at the university comes to be a vital center that contributes to raising the level of emerging technology and developing it, and reflects the university's commitment to keeping pace with modern technologies and improving the quality of education.

He indicated that the Association of Universities includes 540 Arab universities in 22 countries, and has established Arab councils that support its work and contribute to achieving its goals, and there are 43 institutions operating within the framework of the union.

The launch ceremony included a presentation about the center by Eng. Hassan Al-Qudah, and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Dr. Al-Samadi, and the President of the University, Dr. Al-Hanandeh, presented an appreciation shield to Minister Al-Hanandeh.
